Comprehensive Consultation

5. A Strategic Health Partner, Not Just a Consultant
Dr Pillai acts as a trusted guide and thought partner in each client’s long-term health journey. Clients can expect an ongoing relationship that’s focused on optimisation, accountability, and evolving strategies as their health goals grow and change.

Since graduating from medical school, Dr Pillai began his journey on the front lines of a busy orthopaedic and major trauma unit. There, he developed a keen interest in trauma rehabilitation and the science of recovery. But it wasn’t just his clinical work shaping his perspective. Outside the hospital, he was passionately immersed in bodybuilding, even competing in Open University weightlifting and bodybuilding events. This unique blend of science and lived experience gave him rare insight into what it takes to optimise the human body, not just heal it.

His passion for performance medicine and proactive health eventually led him into primary care, where he faced a different challenge: an overwhelming burden of chronic illness. Time and time again, he saw conditions that could have been prevented with the right knowledge and interventions. This was the turning point. He realised the healthcare system was built to manage sickness, not nurture wellness.

So, he founded Gene GPS, a science-driven platform that helps people understand their bodies at a genetic, metabolic, and physiological level. Combining clinical expertise with cutting-edge testing and personalised insights, Dr Pillai creates a way for people to take charge of their health long before problems begin.

As a doctor working in the space of longevity and performance medicine, he doesn’t just wait for illness to show up but helps people stay ahead of it. Through in-depth testing, data-backed advice, and lifestyle-first strategies, he guides individuals to live longer, stronger, and medication-free for as long as possible.

  • Important Note

Gene GPS is not a replacement for your GP or existing medical care. We work alongside your current healthcare provider to bring in a layer of wellness and preventive medicine that the NHS, through no fault of its own, simply isn’t built to deliver. While the NHS focuses on treating illness, we focus on avoiding it altogether. Our goal is to help you stay off long-term medications, reduce the risk of chronic health conditions, and truly thrive—not just survive.

* Please be aware that GENEGPS genetic tests are not to be used for individuals less that the age of 18, nor if there is a disability not allowing for consent. If it is to be used for the above get in touch with us for specific consent forms. The GeneGPS packages are not appropriate for use in clinical or diagnostic settings. It is important to know that genetics deal with your code but another important factor is epigenetics which acts as a switch that turns your code on and off. Your epigenetics are governed by various modifiable factors such as environment, diet, exposures, etc. We cannot identify spontaneous changes to your genetic code    (mutations) that may or may not be linked with epigenetic/genetic factors. As a result even though a negative test can never guarantee no risk at all from serious medical conditions including cancers, neuro-degenerative conditions, etc, It still offers a risk assessment based on our advanced algorithms and current research applied to your genetic code. Nevertheless, in the event that your physician deems a mutation, DNA predisposition, allergy predisposition, medication alteration, or additional interpretations of the test results to be pertinent, standard procedure is to correlate these clinically and conduct additional investigations as needed. The information in our reports is intended to help the individual better understand their genetic makeup. We do not offer medical advice based on the results of these DNA tests.
